Vircon leverages industry best practices in IT systems delivery, ranging from ITIL service delivery concepts, to Agile and Lean TPS, Six Sigma project execution frameworks. Our consultants carry industry accreditation in their respective fields, and have been trained in the overall SDLC models.
At the most general level, all project engagements follow the general approach of:
- Create a Project Charter and Project Dashboard complete with all Stakeholder input
- Baseline and document requirements at the appropriate detail for easy use and keep consistent with the project plan.
- Architect your system into modules so that implementation reduces risk and complexity
- Continually re-examine risk, requirements, timelines.
- Measure progress towards Plan and make corrective measures when they vary
- Test quality metrics and communicate results
- Follow a diligent Change Control process and reflect updates in the Plan
Vircon consultants minimize future changes by uncovering and documenting all business requirements early. As new requirements arise, Vircon assures that they are immediately assessed, approved, and reflected in the project schedule.
Focus is on getting requirements right, communicating them to all stakeholders, and setting expectations with users and the business from the beginning, and maintain that throughout the project.
An error corrected in requirements requires only 1% of the effort to fix as the same error corrected after implementation!
Risk ManagementRisk management in a development project leads to improved quality of the final product, accelerated completion date, decreased cost, and increased chance of success. The Vircon Method is based on the belief that risks can arise throughout the lifecycle of the project. In order to successfully control risks, they should be continuously identified, communicated, tracked, and mitigated.
Once risks are identified, they can be analyzed and transformed into decision-making information. As soon as risks are identified and analyzed, they should be communicated to all appropriate stakeholders. Mitigation plans should be put in place and implemented to keep the project on track.
Project ManagementVircon is actively committed to the success of your project for the entire lifecycle, from concept to completion. Throughout the engagement, Vircon consultants and Delivery Managers work together to consistently execute our Project Methodology. At all times, all members of the project team should be clear on what deliverables they are responsible for, and when they should be delivered. They should also have well-defined success criteria for all deliverables. Estimated completion dates of all deliverables are communicated to the client, and expectations are set early about what will be delivered.
When changes to requirements are requested, we make certain that the customer has signed off on them and understands the potential impact (time and/or money) before going forward to keep the client in control. If the project is affected because of new information, an unexpected issue, or change requests, this change is communicated to the client immediately.
